iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen and a smaller dock connector, Microsoft strikes another licensing deal and Apple Vs Samsung getting more heated.
Upcoming iOS 6 is scalable to taller, 640 x 1136 display, shows possible next-generation device (aka iPhone 5) - The latest version of the iOS 6 Beta was seeded to devs yesterday and contained in it was a rather interesting piece of information. When a display of 640X1136 is selected using the iOS 6 Simulator from the dev tools package the screen displays 5 rows of apps on the homescreeen. Previously in iOS 5 and earlier it would just show a stretched row of icons. The internet is of course taking this as proof that the iPhone 5 will indeed sport a new 4″ display when it is shown off later in the year.
iOS 6 points to new 9-pin connector: is this the new, smaller dock port? – The self same iOS 6 Beta also alludes to a new dock connector for the iDevice faithful. While the debate rages on between all of the so called ‘sources in the know’ a new line of code has been found with the phrase ’9Pin’. Could this be the new dock connector for the iPhone 5 we have all been promised.
